You may want to look at the GeoVideo service (and associated udig plugins) as defined for the OWS3 project. It can serve as an example of how to use a MapGraphic to show a
moving dot driven by a location feed.

Website here:

You can watch one of the videos and see if it was what you had in mind.

Hi all
I have been fiddling around with udig for a few days now. The goal I
have to achieve is to have GPS driven entities (vehicles) shown up on
dedicated map while moving. So I got first through the plugin tutorial.

http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/DEV/3+Plugin+Tutorial

Once I had this working I wanted to have the house layer found under:
http://geotools.codehaus.org/How+to+create+a+simple+FeatureCollection
+from+Scratch
to be called and displayed after the mousePressed event had been called.
But this did not work for me the layer was never shown.
So my question is how can I have the MapLayer added to the Map
displayed.

An other topic is this, that some sample code from geotools refer to
org.geotools.renderer.j2d, which should be found in the 2.3.xAPI but I
was unable to find any package holding this class.

Thank you for helping me

Greetings

th*

ps: I use udig-1.1.0-RC8-sdk
