need to make this public and ensure two mentors are available (yes I
know the development list will be used), and check that each student has
been contacted.

Not all of these students will be in the GeoTools code base; but they
will be making use of our library and asking questions.
Landon recently asked all students to sign up to the osgeo SoC list, and
mentioned that mentors will of sent an acceptence letter out by now. If
you have not already done so - there is something quick to start you out
with on the GeoTools SoC page.
