Not yet; we have looked into technologies that are compatible with the Eclipse RCP platform uDig runs in.

There is nothing preventing you from starting the work; the uDig Project/Map/Layers is simply a data structure and the existing renderer
can be used as is (to render onto a texture), or to generate line work ...

The recent SoC project here may also be of interest - showing the intergration of a rendering system and JMonkey: - http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/3D+Rendering+Pipeline+for+GeoTools

Cheers,
Jody

Hello,

Just a quick question:

Has anyone try to manage 3D Display with uDig in any way?

Is there any information about it within uDig project?

Thanks in advance!

Javi.
