Talking to Jesse and he has asked me to do an update for the various teams at Refractions ... I have been providing updates personally and that is not helpful. I think the idea is he would like to check the update messages and get an overview of what is going on ...

What we are up to:
- gdavis is splitting up project.ui into MapEditor specific functionality and generic functionality that can be used for a GISWidget
- A team is gathering on Monday to beat sense out of the rendering classes
- Amr is going through the training materials on trunk using an SDK jesse was kind enough to put together - jgarnett has assigned 1.1.1 tags to everything on the 1.1.x branch; and organized a bunch of preference pages into a "GIS" page - Cluft is working on an RCP project based on 1.1.x; as such he will be revising 1.1.x over time to shut off various ui functionality

Tasks
- Jody is trying to fix one bug a day from Silvia's list
- Jody expects to verify the next uDig 1.1.x release against the walkthrough 1 and remove some of the instructions about community modules - Jody may need to take a branch of uDig trunk from last month (based on 2.4.x) out for a long walk

Impediments
- Lack of basic class level javadocs in the rendering classes is killing us; we will try and fill in our best guess tomorrow; but developers are cautious to document what they do not know. Currently we are working from a wiki page that appears dated. - Moving the project.ui code to project.widget is stuck; the tools extension point cannot be moved (since the extension point id is tied in with the plugin name?). As such we will need to rename project.ui to project.ui.editor and rename project.widget to project.ui (did I get that right?) - We were unable to remove EMF from the rendering stack; as such watching events cascade around is in our way (too bad you cannot buy the EMF book anymore) - CLuft needs a new SDK for 1.1.x with the preference pages out of the way; unsure if building a 1.1.x SDK is something that can be done without Jesse? - The wiki being down has been holding us up; the sys admin has given it more memory so it should be good. We have managed to block the IP addresses that have been taking down the website (seems to be a couple crawlers)

This is the first week we have had any activity on the stable branch; a first for Refraction :-) Thanks for moving the 1.1.0 release out of the way Jesse.
Jody
