Welcome (back) ... The process api changed somewhat since WPS community module was written...
BEFORE: - factory -> describe input parameters - factory -> describe output results - factory --> process that does the work NOW: - factory -> list of names - factory -> describe input parameters (given a name) - factory -> describe output results (given a name) - factory -> create process (given a name) The process api in geotools is pretty sweet; it makes use of java concurrency thread pools to get stuff done. Eclipse has an earlier cut of the same idea (ie the Jobs). So you may need to dive into the internals of GeoTools to see how thread pools were used ... and then do the same stuff with Jobs.
