It is more that this is one of the things we need to check when we upgrade to a 
new version of Eclipse. We are depending on eclipse for both xerces and batik; 
as such when we upgrade we need to confirm they still work.

So we are not doing anything wrong; it is more that we have to do things 
deliberately. Perhaps we should make a checklist when evaluating a new copy of 
Eclipse?

The screen shot is from some sample data you sent me via dropbox when we first 
got SVG icons to work; you also sent me an email with sample data last week 
which I was unable to get working (as it appears the shapefile is empty).
