I have some more details how to reproduce such exception.
After adding wms layer go to menu window->preferences
then WMS-C Tiles and then set "On Disk" option and set "Disk Cache
Location" path what you want.
Press ok and close dialog window and then exception will thrown.

Do you have any further details on how you produced the stack trace? I
would like to create a bug report with the steps required to reproduce
the problem.
