here is what I do:

1> If there is no index.html file exist. In your http server, set
directory browser on. When UdmSearch tries to read the dir, a default
dir content will be returned, which can be used by UdmSearch to index
all the files ( treated as link ). You may turn off directory browsing
after you finished indexing.

2> If you do have an index.html, but not all your html files are
referenced in index.html, you can either put links to all your other
html files, or, temperarily rename index.html to index_tmp.html. Then
do the same as 1>. After indexing, rename back index.html.

Remember in your indexer.conf, set
Follow on
I think it is the default.

Hope this helps.

well, you see the reason why I don't quite understand UDM is b/c I want
it
to search the entire web for me, not just index one site.

>From your experience, how can I make it so that UDM searches the ENTIRE
web
for me based on the phrase I give it and then returns those results into
a
mySQL database?
