G'day, First, I thought you may want to know I have made Debian packages for udmsearch, they should be in the archives soon. I am also one of the Debian webmasters (http://www.debian.org/) and we are looking for a search engine for our site. It is a pretty hard requirement because the site is several Gigs of data and speaks about 20 languages using content negotiation. I did some tests on some smaller sites and noticed that indexer takes a VERY long time to index a site, it was about 50 Meg of information and 8000 pages. I then tried doing something with the file:// URL instead of running it through the webserver. I got much better results, but another problem appeaered. It seems indexer then ignores any changes to the files, so it will not update if a file changes. I was hoping it would stat the files and update based on ctime or something. So has anyone got any suggestions for getting a speed boost and handling multiple langauges? - Craig -- Craig Small VK2XLZ, PGP: AD 8D D8 63 6E BF C3 C7 47 41 B1 A2 1F 46 EC 90 Eye-Net Consulting http://www.eye-net.com.au/ <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> MIEEE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Debian developer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ______________ If you want to unsubscribe send "unsubscribe udmsearch" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
