UdmSearch: patch for postgres + udmsearch

hi guys

A few days back while searching thru the udmsearch mailing list archive
found a patch to increase performance of postgresql when used with udmsearch.. 
This patch was posted way back on 30 Jun 2000.. Will it still be valid..

The patch had been applied to udmsearch 3.1.1 code on sql.c 
Right now i am using 3.1.8
