FWIW, I'm actually using git to manage the tree checked out by CVS
because I'm more familiar with git nowadays.

I find this one quite useful and it may be useful to others too. There is
not much code behind it.

Looked into this briefly and the main issue I see with my camera sensor
when it gets dark is noise, not a constant dark point offset.

I'm still not satisfied with despeckling though it is useful to me. Making this
conditional might be a good idea since I suspect I'm probably the only user.
