Use isainfo -b or isainfo -v . If your hardware is x86-64 then the solaris
kernel will also be 64 bit kernel by default.
Also during startup you can see whether your machine is running 32 bit or 64
bit os.

( Just one change - menu.lst in opensolaris 2008.05 exists in
/rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst and not in /boot/menu.lst since
ZFS<http://opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/>is the default root file
system )
