Here is a wild guess that might or might not work. Edit /etc/default/init and set the value of the LANG variable to C [ananth at turing]$ grep LANG /etc/default/init # TZ, LANG, CMASK, or any of the LC_* environment variables. value may LANG=C > Strange ( and very annoying) is the fact the for KDE, it pops up at > weird places for _every_ window. > it says it is some weird "iiimx" thing.
