Talk Abstract:
The OpenSolaris Operating Environment is the only mainstream Unix
that is still popular today and has evolved into a modern OS that
incorporates features coming out of current development in Operating
Systems.
This talks aims to cover the following topics:
* A brief overview of OpenSolaris with some historical background
* An architectural overview and introduction to the Kernel
* Salient features of OpenSolaris:
  DTrace, Resource Management and Zones, ZFS,
  Observability and Debugging tools
* Current development in the OpenSolaris community

About The Speaker  :
Moinak Ghosh works in the Solaris Sustaining Engineering team in SUN
Bangalore. He has been working at SUN for the past 4 years dealing
with various aspects of OpenSolaris. He is also heavily involved in
the OpenSolaris community, Bangalore OpenSolaris users group and
delivered talks at various forums. He also created the 2nd OpenSolaris
LiveCD distribution called BeleniX (http://www.belenix.org) 2.5 years
back. At present it is one of the most popular community OpenSolaris
distributions all over the globe.

He has been in the Industry for the past 10 years and worked with a
variety of computing platforms and technologies. Prior to joining SUN
he was working at the Cisco Offshore Dev. Center at HCL Technologies
Chennai.
