Hi Zoram,
       Are you using nwam ? check by running

$ svcs -a | grep physical
disabled        9:39:18 svc:/network/physical:nwam
online          9:39:23 svc:/network/physical:default

if you are using inetmenu. Disable nwam and enable
"svc:/network/physical:default" .
traceroute 61.1.96.71
netstat -r
ifconfig -a
nslookup sun.com

outputs might help in understanding this issue.

if you think DNS might be the issue, you can use opendns nameservers
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
