Hi Folks,

I have got KDE 4.3.1 up and running on BeleniX 0.8 Alpha with some
important fixes. Please see the notification here:

Some recent posts on my blog (http://moinakg.wordpress.com/) describe
the important fixes. KDE 4.3.1 improves A Lot over 4.2.4 in general. The
KDE community claims 10,000 bug fixes and lots of new features.
I am now getting various KDE applications ready like Koffice 2.1 Beta.
More enhancements to base KDE stuff for OpenSolaris will follow and
of course the much awaited 0.8 ISO release :) We will then be looking
at getting out of SVR4 packaging. We are looking at Dpkg or RPM5
along with the Smart Package Manager so that I can finally dump the
spkg utility. Flexible and fearture-ful as it might be, it is essentially a
re-invention of the wheel that was done out of necessity. I am loath to
spend further time on it even though I will include a temporary handler
in KPackage to provide an spkg GUI interface for now.

Getting to KDE4 latest release was quite a journey for me.

Regards,
Moinak.
