[ug-chosug] Comparing Asterisk PBX on Solaris VS Linux

I've read over the docs and am somewhat confused as to it's purpose.  Can 
freeswitch be used as a drop in replacement for asterisk?  I'm asking as today 
marks the third time this week asterisk has quit working, (along with apache, 
and various other things).  That and I am trying to move all of our systems 
onto Solaris.
