leaving the SVR4 world where everything was OK....

let's challenge IPS

I like to explain/show the

Source Juicer and the Bootstrap on the OpenExpo Side by Side

e.g the Moodle Application who will be on the OpenExpo
They have a Voting request
http://de.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=398698&tstart=0
Moodle is still in the Pending Repository.
so you can install moddle by :
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg set-authority -O
http://jucr.opensolaris.org/pending/ pending
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install moodle

but as well you can set up your own IPS Server :

here is my Test IPS-Server in bella Buesingen:

bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg set-publisher -O
http://ips.couchpotatofries.org TEST

This Repository can only be used if you have build 122 running on an x86!
This Server is not 24 hours online!
so first check if the website http://ips.couchpotatofries.org is up.
My upload is 600kbit and the Server is an Workstation Ultra 20 M2 with
fiber channel.
The Install Links on the page are not working (BUG)
I recommend to turn this Repository off if the Page is down:
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg unset-publisher
http://ips.couchpotatofries.org TEST

for installing Moodle:
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install moodle

for installing Mplayer (Version 1.0rc2)
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install SFEmplayer

for installing PGP
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install SFEgnupg

for installing Openbox
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install SFEopenbox

for installing Fluxbox
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install fluxbox

for installing Afterstep
bob at opensolaris:~$ pfexec pkg install SFEafterstep

...

so you have two option to install moodle!

Robert

P.S.: Do not get confused by pkg authority -> pkg publisher
