Hi Members

It is now possible to register for the OpenExpo 2010. I guess we should
discuss how we will proceed, as IMHO there are changes that affect us
quite heavily. Read it through and reply with your comments to this mail.

For those who do not speak German, here is my translation.

-OpenSource Projects should have a "SME" focus
-The project should have a clear agenda what information and content
will be presented and what the targets are.
-Somebody has to be at the stand at all time
-The stand has to be set up from the beginning
-The project has to propagate it's participation in its own community
-The project has to propagate it's participation publicly (web page,
press release...)

Target audience:

-Business-, department-, project leaders, decision makers and employees
of small/medium and also larger companies
-IT-responsible, IT-employees
-Consultants, IT-journalists, experts
-Government members, organization, NPO
-Programmers, Community-Members
-Students
(Important: More focus on visitors who are not familiar with the topics)

Preferred topics:

- Suppliers/implementors of business software (ERP,CRM, BPM, CMS, DMS,
BI etc.) OS-Solutions for all industries. Focus is the smae as for
topsoft. Commercial- Service and Industrial companies plus Government,
less Banks and Insurance
-Supplier of OS-based Infrastructure solutions / Web Service providers
-Developers of individual Software
-IT-Service/IT-System-Management
-Others

Decision-criteria:

-Only non-commercial projects with a strong relation to the topics
mentioned, get a sponsored project stand
-Vitality and activity behind the community behind the project plays a
big role
-The project should be related to topics, that are in the interests of
Businesscompanies and visitors of the OpenExpo and Topsoft
-The project should be innovative and of a "new kind"
-The project must provide sufficient staffing for the whole event

Important is, that the project is in the focus, and not the company
behind it. This means, that any posters and documents are not allowed to
contain the company of the people behind the stand. If services are to
be sold, a commercial stand has to be acquired. Each project stand has
to make a declaration.

The number of project stands is limited to 25. The committee is allowed
to make any decision about the attendance of the stand (for any
reason...). OpenExpo provides:

-Sponsored Stand, posterwall, table and bar stool
-Free A1 Poster from PDF
-Free Power/Internet
-Free Catering

Changes:
-The stand's focus is on the fair's visitors. This is the reason for the
new structure (see Picture)
-There is only one bar stool. There can not be 3-4 project attendees at
the stand at the same time.
-The table is smaller, but higher. Used for presentations and discussions
-Selection of topics should be targeted to businesses
