Greetings all -
We are rapidly approaching the next meeting, which, as we usually
aim for, falls on the 3rd Wednesday of the month!
By Crikey - if you missed last month, you missed a blinder... We had
Nathan and Boyd playing the fool and straight man (I'll leave you to
choose which was which) in some discussions around SPARC and X86
hardware and had a good look at using Dtrace for simple troubleshooting.
Boyd even recalled his previous command - using the up arrow...
This month, we have a bunch of possibles - to be confirmed with the
speakers. Currently looking like (In the order that folks told me they
would be interested):
- Andre: A controversial and mysterious topic
- Daniel Cook: Live Upgrade and Patching stuff
- Alan Chalmers: AI - Automated Opensolaris install
- Arya Abdian: ZFS and rsync for backup
- Greg Boug: VCS (Veritas Cluster)
And possibly some I have forgotten. (Let me know if I forgot!!).
**Speakers:** Please confirm if you can or cannot do this month. :)
Clearly, we won't get through all of these in one meeting - We'll move
them into next month. :)
Please respond in the positive OR negative ASAP so Pizza and Drinks can
be planned. :)
Where?
Level 7, 476 St Kilda Road, Melbourne,
When?
Wednesday March the 18th, 2009 at 18:00 for general

To anyone who meets with or talks to folks interested in Solaris: Please
let everyone know about the meeting, the time and the date. We had a
great first meeting, and would love to continue to grow the group.
A note on access: The Lifts in the building and entrance to Level 7
automatically lock early in the evening, so access will be provided by
Sun folks on-site. A sign will also be placed close to the ground floor
lifts with a contact number, should you arrive after the start of the
meeting.
If you are interested in Solaris, doing interesting things with, or on
Solaris, we want YOU!
See our opensolaris project page:
