I suspect that journalists who make out such "FUD" out of thin air have
never actually worked
as IT practitioners in a "real world"...
if they would they would know, that Solaris is THE platform of choice for
running any of the Oracle stuff
in any serious enterprise infrastructure...

they probably don't even realize that "OpenSolaris" is not just some kidn of
yet another "opens-source OS"
but really more like a publicly exposed "forward R&D" branch of "real"
SOLARIS...
once source was opened it is really impractical to "close it back"..
therefor OpenSolaris is unlikely to be killed
if "proper" SOLARIS is still around...

And killing the "proper" SOLARIS would be really-really stupid if they do
that...

Not to say that this cannot happen (as stupid_things can always happen given
enough concentration of stupidity in a given place ;),  but just to say that
there is really NO a _rational_ reason for that...
the fact that Oracle supports and uses Linux is not such reason... it's a
"Non sequitur"...
