Hey all!

Last month, we a took a trip down performance alley a discovered that
2-3 hours is really only *just* enough time to have the start of a
decent talk about CPU and Memory from a performance monitoring and
understanding perspective.

This month, we'll give I/O the same 'starter' treatment and perhaps
*finally* get to the part about new Nevada / Opensolaris putbacks.
(There has been some awesome stuff go back in the last few months...)

Please respond in the positive OR negative ASAP so Pizza and Drinks can
be planned. :)

Where?
Level 7, 476 St Kilda Road, Melbourne,
When?
Wednesday September the 16th, 2009 at 18:00 for general
discussion.

Speakers start at 18:30 sharp, with Pizza arriving somewhere around
20:00ish.

Speakers / Topics will be:

   - Andre and Nathan: Solaris Performance. We won't make you an
expert, but will start you down the road to understanding
Solaris I/O and a little about it's performance characteristics.

Expect the performance discussion to be lots of questions
and answers. And - possibly more questions. :)

   - Andre, and Nathan and perhaps Mr Maltby (if he's interested!):
     Recent Nevada putbacks; what's interesting
and what do we want to talk about more?

Soft drink, coffee/tea and Pizza will be available. (YES - FOOD.)

**If you plan to attend, please reply NOW to
nathan.kroenert at optusnet.com.au so that we
can plan for seating / pizza / drinks!**

To anyone who meets with or talks to folks interested in Solaris: Please
let everyone know about the meeting, the time and the date. We had a
great first meeting, and would love to continue to grow the group.

A note on access: The Lifts in the building and entrance to Level 7
automatically lock early in the evening, so access will be provided by
Sun folks on-site. A sign will also be placed close to the ground floor
lifts with a contact number, should you arrive after the start of the
meeting.

If you are interested in Solaris, doing interesting things with, or on
Solaris, we want YOU!

See our opensolaris project page:
               http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/msosug/

Hope to see many of you there, and if you are not yet on the alias
               ug-msosug at opensolaris.org
consider joining us! (See the project page above for details!)

Cheers!

The Instigators.
