Do we want to offer build 129 or build 130 - 130 has some issues with glx
that stops
compiz working; workarounds are in the release notes. We can offer both.
Just need
to know so we can copy iso images and setup repo servers in advance.
There are two approaches to local upgrade:
1) Setup a laptop or two as a repo server, bring along an ethernet hub and
people can image-update off of that after some pkg set-publisher
chicanery (it's quickest to use the local repo as a full origin, but
you can set it up as a mirror too in which case net access to the
opensolaris.org origin is also required). I can bring a 5 port 1g
ethernet hub.
2) Have repo iso images (a little under 8G) along with instructions for
setting up your own repo server. They're pretty easy to follow, and
then you can upgrade multiple machines off your own server. As
Nathan says, bring along a USB disk. Or bring along a dual layer
DVD and we can see if my or Nathan's laptop will write it (mine says it
can); there are split iso images for 2 x regular DVDs, too.
