When I talked about building OpenSolaris back in November I claimed
that you could still only build DEBUG. That turns out not to have
been true for some time now.
You can download debug or non-debug closed bins from one of
For the latest build:

For a specific build (substitute for 129):

http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/nightly-bins/ currently only has closed
bins
but James is going to fix that.
With those retrieved an untarred at the top of your workspace you can then
setup nightly for a non-DEBUG build:
(gavinm at hyper:/tank/ws/gavinm/swfma-hyper )-> ls -1
closed (untarred closed bins)
exception_lists (from hg repo)
usr (from hg repo)
Now copy the opensolaris.sh env file:
(gavinm at hyper:/tank/ws/gavinm/swfma-hyper )-> cp
usr/src/tools/env/opensolaris.sh nightly.env
And change NIGHTLY_OPTIONS to remove both F and D. ie
Default: NIGHTLY_OPTIONS="-FNnaCDlmrt"; export NIGHTLY_OPTIONS
Change to: NIGHTLY_OPTIONS="-NnaClmrt"; export NIGHTLY_OPTIONS
