All,
Some of you may have heard me mention that I was unable to create the
Solaris 10 brand zone on a Virtual box instance of opensolaris.
The error I was getting was a follows:
A ZFS file system has been created for this zone.
Log File: /var/tmp/jones.install_log.4xa4gc
Installing: This may take several minutes...
Postprocessing: This may take a while...
Postprocess: Updating the image to run within a zone
Postprocess: ERROR: SMF repository unavailable.
Result: Installation completed successfully.
Don't be fool by the fact the message says "completed successfully" and the
zoneadm shoes the zones as installed, and it even shows up as running when
you boot it! You just can't login to it.
Thanks to Nathan who suggest that it could be due to the Virtual box using
NAT'd interface. That indeed was the issue, changed to a bridged network and
install proceeded as expected.
cheers
alan
