Subject: Re: WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THE KENYA ATTACK Dear Friends! It was a sad day for the families who lost their loved ones in that cowardly bomb attack at the Israeli owned and run hotel in Nairobi just as much as it wasa sad day for all peace-loving peoples of the world...be they black, white, yellow, brown or whatever color! The important point to understand and draw from all this is that our African governments do not do enough to protect their citizens from acts of terrorism such as these....unlike their Western counterparts, including Israel, Australia and New Zealand. It is not a question of having the funds, of being rich or poor. It is a matter of just how much our leaders value the lives of the Africans they purport to lead and protect! Most of our present-day leaders are in the game for their own self aggrandisement and enrichment. They are in cahoots with all the Western donors for whatever financial gains they may be having and, of course, to be friendly with these donors so that they may turn a blind eye to the atrocities they rain on their own people without the typical arm slapping that goes on from time to time. By the same token, the same African leaders are in the same camp with their fellow worshippers such that they cannot come down hard and deplore in the strongest terms the ills these "brothers" bring to their respective countries in the name of their religions! How many African governments know about the corruption that exists in their respective countries being carried on by some notorious but well known Asians, Israelis, Westerners, et al and yet these perpetrators get away with impunity? Why? Because some of the monies pilfered from the government coffers are secretly siphoned by the very people who are supposed to be protecting us. So, when it comes to acting magnanimously and doing the right thing, these very leaders find some lame excuses for not doing their jobs, such as, "well, if we chase these people then our country will suffer as they will take all their wealth and run!" They completely and conveniently forget that they are the ones who make the rules and that they can legislate against the repatriation of any funds that were amassed illegally in that nation! Western nations are freezing accounts that belong to their perceived "enemies" everyday! And they are getting away with it, too! Only African nations are so gentlemanly and polite as to not want to do that. The only leader with any balls is the Comrade Robert G. Mugabe who put all he has on the line for his people's sake. Now, the truth has been laid open by one British historian who has shown that Mugabe is only trying to right the wrongs carried out on his people centuries ago by the British Imperialists who raided and raped his nation way back then! What is the life of an African worth to these leaders...the money from tourism brought in by the Israelis? The token tax money brought in by the Arab and Asian traders? Or the pittance that is paid to workers in these African nations by their European/Western employers? When was the last time you checked and compared the salaries and benefits of Western, Arab, Indian workers as opposed to their African counterparts doing the very same job and with the same qualifications? What is the justification of these vast differences? Is it that the foreigners buy their life's necessities in some store somewhere else other than the African nations they live in? If the job is in Africa, then all people doing the same job must be paid the same salaries and must be given the same considerations as anyone else...regardless of national origin. It is time Africans began to realise their worth...and their governments must work with them to pass legislation which hammers this home without fear or favor. African governments must have the gall to tell all peoples of the world that Africa will not allow any foreigners to bring their wars to our soils for whatever reason. In as much as embargoes are being placed on African nations and dignitaries, African governments must start doing the same to prevent calamities such as the latest Kenyan bombings to a complete stop. Arabs, Israelis, Asians and Westerners who come to set up shop in Africa must first show their businesses are genuine and that any diversion from their intended purpose will result in their summary deportation and forfeiture of all their proceeds and property. Most importantly, nations that are involved in unending wars must not be allowed to do business of any kind in any African country until their conflicts are resolved by the UN...this despite the large amounts of money that the foreign nations may be bringing into the Africa, annually. We have to look at the alternatives and consequences of continuing to carry on amicable relations with these nations whose end result is the pain, suffering and loss of life of our own kith and kin as we have seen. The end result is the loss of the same tourism dollars we aim to protect! Tell me, how much damage has been done to the Kenyan tourism industry as a result of their carrying on some friendly business deals with Israel, a nation that has continuously flouted all the regulations placed upon them by the UN; a nation that has clearly chosen a bloody path of waging an endless war with its neighbors from whom they have been stealing land by hook or by crook; a nation that is practising one of the most ruthless forms of genocide ever seen by man? How much harm has befallen African tourism as a result? So, where is the benefit, pray, tell me? What compensation goes to the relatives and nation for the sad and wanton loss of life and property and intangible assets that occurred last Sunday? Let us carefully chose who must be our friends, where and when, without fearing the consequential loss of revenues, bribes, development funds, etc. because no money can ever buy life. Africans are looking for sustainable, progressive development and not the kind that come from bloody money! We implore our leaders to look into areas where they can bring about prosperity to their nations without having to cow low to anyone for any reason. Your charge are the very poor Africans you are selling out to be massacred by these cowardly perpetrators and provocateurs of wars, destabilization actions and endless ethnic cleansing such as is going on in Israel today. Work hard ro develop the AU and NEPAD to such an extent that we shall be able to trade among ourselves and not rely on the West or anybody else to generate the revenues we need for our progressive and steady developmemnt. I have said it far too many times that no one is going to clean up your own home better than the way you would do it yourself. LET US DO WHAT WE HAVE TO DO TO REMOVE THESE ALIEN WARS FROM OUR BELOVED MOTHERLAND! M'tizwa Chirunga Hastings Mzoma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
