DAME DAMU - IS THE MOTTO. NJOKI DO YOU WANT MORE DATA? Are you a mother, father, sister, brother what happened at Kichwamba technical institute on June 8, 1998- what is the truth and why are Ugandans quite about it? Why has the government of Uganda has two version of what actually happened? Who are the ADF ? Why are they free in this matter and what does the law (Uganda & International ) about it?
Assisting the June 8, 1998Kichwamba survivors and where up to 80 youth were burnt alive and several abducted is everyone's responsibility. Failure to do so prolongs every Uganda's misery which now has been going on for over 30 years now! It is now public knowledge that the government of Uganda has at least two versions as to what actually happened in the massacre of Kichwamba students see the stories below. In my opinion it is an opportunity for Ugandans to help the state bring ADF criminals to justice. Failure by Ugandans to tackle such issues has prolonged the suffering of the people into this region. It is opportune therefore that your survival , children's future peace and your grand children's prosperity will depend on what you do in this critical moment. Ugandans can do a lot by doing the following; a. Establish a fund for one or more persons (representative) who was affected in the massacre in support for international legal process. The process must be international not otherwise. b. help with getting in touch or organising the victims in a structured organisation with an ability to purse subsequent legal process. c. the diaspora must be ready to assist these people in terms or moral, abode and financial support. d. Ugandans have a right to get the facts as they are below, into the world wide legal community for optimal and effective results. e. the future depends on solving this and other such issue legally so that they can be written into people mind and annuals. f. engage the civil community within and without to make them aware of their legal rights. We have done our part and we mind not be here for quite very long to offer more efforts in resolving Ugandan dark past , present but a nation is composition of many more people and ours is a very free contribution to our fellow brethren. What you and don't do will resound in the so - called ambushes as far as Acoli before they reverberated into your own village. Bwanika. ----------- April 29, 2002 ARMY Commander Maj. Gen. James Kazini has revealed that renegade UPDF Lt. Col. Anthony Kyakabale led the March 17, 2001 attack on Kasese town. He said Kyakabale was assisted by Maj. Patrick Muhindo's former aide identified as Kawuda, and other people still at large. Kazini was on Saturday night speaking as chief guest at hotel Margherita in Kasese at a party hosted for him by the Kasese business community. "Your vehicles and other property were not burnt by the ADF but by Kyakabale assisted by Maj. Muhindo and facilitated by foreign forces," Kazini said. Kyakabale, who is under the custody of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Kigali, Rwanda is on record for having declared war on Uganda. Kazini said ADF terrorists who had been trained in Pakistan, burnt Uganda Technical College Kichwamba in 1998. Over 80 students were killed and others abducted. June 24, 1998 Kampala President Yoweri Museveni yesterday visited National Technical Institute, Kichwamba and consoled the bereaved parents whose children were either abducted or burnt to cinders by rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) June 8. Museveni assured the still grief-stricken parents that UPDF as a force has the capacity to defend all Uganda citizens. He lamented that it's only the few commanders who were deployed to guard the institute that betrayed the government by collaborating with the rebels. He said the detach commander's collaboration was the sole reason the rebels attacked the college and wreaked havoc with ease and walked off unscathed. "Don't blame UPDF as a force for the massacre of your children saying that it can no longer defend its people, but blame those army commanders like Lt. Kasozi and his friends who were deployed at the college to guard the students but instead collaborated with enemies and killed your children," the president said. He also told the wananchi that the army is working round the clock to rescue the abducted students now in ADF's captivity. The president told listeners that UPDF is ready to deal a heavy blow to the ADF rebels who always relish their barbaric acts. Museveni said to achieve his goal, more weaponry like helicopters which can engage the enemy during the day and night time are needed. He said the choppers too need to be highly sensitive in order to detect the rebel hideouts in the mountains of Rwenzori. The president and the minister of State for Higher Education, Abel Rwendeire, promised to restore all the Institution's properties destroyed by the rebels. They promised to buy a new truck for the institute, text books and renovate damaged buildings. They said by October this year, all the necessary replacements and renovations will be in place to enable students resume their studies normally. Museveni also reminded the rebels that the presidential pardon for all rebels who wish to surrender to government forces still exits. He talked of 300 rebels of LRA led by Joseph Kony in the North who surrendered to UPDF recently and were received with much love. He said they have now been incorporated in the society. He said that to him rebels in the country are not a threat but that all is needed is to organise the army, buy enough firearms and defeat them like the army did with the dissident groups of Odong Latek, Hitler Eregu, Jesus Ejirot and Beba-beba. In his speech, the principal of the institute, Engineer Mbabazi appealed to government to help those whose children were abducted and later killed in captivity to recover their bodies for burial. He also appealed to the president, to quickly renovate the college and enable it carry on with its normal studies. Before the speeches, the president was conducted around the college by the principal of the institute. Museveni was able to see the dormitories razed by the fire. He laid a wreath at the mass grave of the 31 students who were buried at the college. The RDC Ndiwa Chemasuet Charles in his speech appealed to the world Human Rights Commission to punish rebel leaders and others who have traumatized the wananchi. Kisembo Muleju Amooti (MP) told the president that it was really a shame to the government for the rebels who were very few to attack the college and leave unhurt. __________ bwanika Logon & Join in ug-academicsdb discussion list http://www.coollist.com/subcribe.html List ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Your Email address: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ url: http://uhpl.uganda.co.ug http://pub59.ezboard.com/fugandamanufacturersassociationfrm1
