Netters,
I am quite certain that Yusufu Musoke belongs to that group of people
who have not even bothered to read the Buganda proposals but are fond
of making sweeping statements about them.
Where, within federo, was it suggested that top officials should not be
elected and consequently could not be removed if they did not perform?
Is he also suggesting that since countries like Norway, Sweden, Belgium, UK, Denmark, etc. have monarchs, they are therefore undemocratic ?
Yusuf should educate himself about these issues before he embarasses himself in public.

PS. He seems to have confused the words 'majority' and 'minority'.

Federo is undemocratic, if you didnt know!
SIR Those Baganda agitating for federo have to wake up to changed
circumstances. The political system they want had its time that is long
gone. I also wish to point out that there appears to be a silent majority of
Baganda, especially the younger generation, who are either ambivalent or
against federo.
Therefore, when people in the Mengo establishment speak of unanimous Buganda
support, this is not true. They themselves were never elected, they were
just appointed.
To compare the federal system of America with the federo they are wishing
for shows the weightlessness of the federo argument. The American system is
democratic, that is all governors and top officials are elected on merit not
due to accident of birth! They can be removed if they do not perform but
this option does not exist within federo. So it is quite surprising to see
people like Mr John Ken-Lukyamuzi, MP Lubaga South, claiming to be ardent
monarchists as well as passionate democrats! The two systems are mutually
exclusive!
I appeal to non-Baganda like Dr James Rwanyarare and retired Bishop Cyprian
Bamwoze to address their views about federo to Mengo, not Baganda as a
whole. An unelected body residing in Bulange cannot be representative of all
Baganda.

Nagenda, federo
SIR Mr John Nagenda in his February 8 One Mans Week calls federo agitators
myopic.
All along Mengo knew what the reactions of some Nagendas of Buganda would
be: they cannot bite the hand that feeds them.
The federo we are talking of is not the will of all but of many. In Buganda,
if you are not part of the many, you remain quiet. Where was Nagenda in
1962-66?
