When UCB and property of the Greenland Bank were sold while Sulaiman Kiggundu was in prison, I sent a letter of protest to the Governor of the bank of Uganda, plus other officials in the bank, Officials of the both the IMF and the World Bank representing Africa and the Caribbean, a number of media organizations, targeted members of the Ugandan Parliament and urged them to press for investigations, I am thrilled that it has gone somewhere.
My desire would be to see the sales reversed, by this government and if not, the next Ugandan regime should reverse those transactions. At least for the minimum, an investigation must be ordered even if it takes years, and Gerald Ssendaula will be the 1st respondent.

Kibaki order on Goldenberg praised

The decision to launch a fresh inquiry into the Goldenberg scandal has been commended by lawyers, politicians and a diplomat, who described it as a step in the right direction.
The lawyers described those appointed to the tribunal as "clean men".
Mbita MP Otieno Kajwang', himself a lawyer, said President Kibaki's decision meant that Attorney-General Amos Wako was not doing his work as stipulated in the law. "The Government is tired of using the AG to fight corruption," he told the Nation by telephone.
The MP said the commission was a better way of dealing with the scandal, arguing that many other people involved had not been taken to court.
"The charges will now be wholesale and predicated on the evidence ..........
