Women beat their men all the time 

Recently, a man sought help from the Federation of women lawyer (Fida) over the vicious violence meted on him over the past 10 years by his wife. The father of two claimed his body was full of scars from wounds inflicted by his wife. 

This man joins a long list of men who have suffered in the hands of brutal spouses.

In response to the man's plea, the chairperson of Fida lamented that her organisation was not ready to offer him legal representation. 

That response was rude and shocking. It confirmed that Fida's war on domestic violence is selective, selfish and based on false assumption that only women are victims. 

But to the contrary, many men suffer in the hands of their wives but due to fear being laughed at, suffer in silence. 

It is unfortunate that Fida would ignore this fact. Indeed, if this lobby believes in equality, fairness and justice, why doesn't it offer protection to men as well? Women are capable of giving men a thorough beating.
