UPDF in Central African Republic!  This is the most sad thing to happen on the African subcontinent!  I wonder how much of Uganda's tax payers' money has been spent on such senseless wars.  I think Mu7 like Hitler, gets orgasms through his charism from instructing soldiers to kill people.  No wonder both these guys loved the battle field so much because the amount of intensity they involve(d) is unexplainable!

Does any one remember when we stated here that Museveni's army was active in Central African Republic, and those who know the democracy of Museveni a new breed of Africa refused? Well here we are.

Family wants soldiers body

MBALE - Government has been asked to exhume and accord a decent burial to Capt Peter Opolot - who died in combat abroad.

He died in battle in the Central African Republic in 2000. The call is contained in a February 12 letter by the Uganda Human Rights Activists (UHRA) to the minister of State for Defence. UHRA is also seeking assistance for the bereaved family.

Our investigation desk has revealed that the late
Capt Peter Opolot was from 2nd Division headquarters in Mbarara. He was taken to CAR as sector commander in 1998. Unfortunately, he was killed in Libenge near River Ubangi in July, the letter says.

UHRA Coordinator, Valentine Moses Oleico endorsed it.

He said the government has neither produced the soldiers remains nor availed information to his relatives.

Oleico wrote further that the widow, left with nine children and three dependents, has never received assistance from government.

The appeal was made to the Uganda Human Rights Commission, under case file No. 333/03.

UPDF Spokesman, Maj Shaban Bantariza could neither deny nor confirm the death of Opolot.

He however said: We have neither had our troops deployed in Chad nor the Central African Republic. Our troops have only been to DR Congo and Liberia. We have never had any business in the two countries that he (Oleico) mentions.

But Oleico stood his ground in a March 1 interview with The Monitor.

He said: the UPDF together with Congolese rebels they were backing, once intervened in the CAR affairs when the current ruler there, Gen Francois Bozize, made his first attempt to overthrow the deposed leader, Felix Pattase.
