Oracha:
You remind me of Obote. He used never to like different opinions from his. Obote advised his opponenets to "stay away from politics if all they talk is north and south". Obote called that "stupid". But guess what?? Obote's govt was predominatly occupied of people from the North. I wonder what he was thinking when he was putting people in his govt. Was he thinking north and south?? I think so, that's common sense.
Believe it or not, Joracha. There is a division of north and south in Uganda. The recently events of the tribes from the North, mainly Acholi, Lango, and Teso burrying their differences but refusing to burry their differences with tribes from the South is yet another "north and south". Like it or not.
Recently, the State Minister for Security, Mrs. Betty Akech had an outburst with the Americans. The MPs from Acholi (Acholi MPs caucus) vowed to apologize on her behalf for the Acholi region. Why not the MPs from the West?? Because Betty Akech belongs to the Acholi tribe and therefore the "north and south" card comes into play.
If up to now you have not accepted the differences in the north and south, I think you are living in another fantasia. Uganda is not a one people. When an Acholi MP or minister messes up, its the Acholi who apologize not the Westerners. Accept it.
I want you to tell me what words of "stupidity" I've mentioned in my posting. If you can only do that, then we have something to talk about. My point on the net is to let members know of what I think. The same thing as you are doing. There is no need for you to question my point on the net. My postings will answer that for me.
I am not going to censor myself. Some Northerners have failed to believe that they are not Southerners, and that no matter what they do, they are truelly different in culture, customs, etc with the Southerners. People like Oracha who still believes that there is no difference between him and I. I think that he has forgotten alot.
Obote tried to be a "one person" with the tribe of Buganda. In his mind, what he thought was the right thing to do was to exile the Kabakaship and install himself a life president. He thought that by banning Kingdoms, he was indeed bring Ugandans together as "one people". What a mess up?! It back fired. He was not bring Ugandans together but forcing them apart, by impossing his ideas and dictatorship onto others. That can not work with critical thinkers.
Oracha, I really think that you have brought to me another empty criticism. You can not force the people of the South to become blind to the fact that they are different from the people of the North. You can force the people of the North to become blind to the fact that they are different from the people of the South. That can not be. That's an illusion.
An example; There is a certain lady from the Acholi tribe on this discussion list, who has clearly over and over let the world know that she dispises the cultures of the South. I don't blame her because you know what?? The North is not the South, and neither the South is the North. There is no "one people" in Uganda.
Oracha, I want you to make a case where the people of Uganda are not divided between "north and south". For I have numerous examples of how the north and south is divided.
