Uganda moving backwards now I was astonished to read in The Monitor: " districts to demand vote on third term. Instead of moving forward as one of the legs of the crested crane on its emblem implies, Uganda is now going to move backwards.
During the 2001 presidential campaigns, President Yoweri Museveni promised to retire from politics after his last constitutional term-limit. But now the big guys are trying to mislead the entire nation! They turn us into fools. All people calling for third term are insiders; I mean all proponents of movement who have gained from its hegemony. On the one hand, all things planned for 2005, starting with the graduated tax, to mention but a few, summing up with the referendum are only meant to show the efficacy of Museveni to the nation, yet Museveni himself is still covering up the ultimate truth of ruthless politicking. If Uganda is really seeking further to complete its journey of development, then President Museveni should hand over the steering to another driver. If he insists to drive a little bit further, then a terrible and devastating accident will be inevitable. Robert Senkindu (Uppsala) Stockholm University Sweden. Robert senkindu: You are a wiseman. With people like you, I am confident that Uganda still has some hope. keep well in Sweden. the Only one MK -------------------------------------------- This service is hosted on the Infocom network http://www.infocom.co.ug
