The government will re-deploy the UPDF in Kotido district to provide security to the Karimojong who will have surrendered their guns to the army.
Kotido deputy RDC, Mr Kambarage Kakonge, told The Monitor at the weekend, the move is meant to protect the Karimojong from possible external aggression.
"Our main fear is that the people who will have surrendered their guns may feel insecure. We are therefore going to set up committees including LC3, clan leaders, councillors, MPs for this purpose," Kakonge said.
He said the committees will sensitise the residents on the disarmament exercise.
