The irony is that if Kabaka Rules  Buganda with all the power vested in MaguluNyondo, then the NRM cannot rule Buganda,already the NRM cannot rule Northern Uganda, thanx to NRM created wars. so the NRM is going to rule Nyatura!!

The RDC, Dr Stanley Kinyata, has asked the government to solve the misunderstandings with the Kabaka to maintain stability.

He said traditional leaders play a big role in maintaining stability and peace and that the Movement government couldnot govern without the Kabaka's backup.

"We need Mengo at all costs. Without Kabaka we can't govern this country peacefully," Kinyata said.

He was talking to Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II at Mengo Social Centre during his Kampala tour.

He said the existing problems between Mengo, the Kingdom's seat and the government should be fought for a clear and free political future in Uganda.

Kinyata said there is no problem in Kabaka's existence with all his powers to rule Buganda Kingdom.

"Why can't Kabaka rule his kingdom with his powers?" he asked.

Kinyata's remarks come months after the government's refusal to grant a Federal system of governance to Buganda kingdom.

The talks between the central government and Mengo crumbled after disagreements between the two camps.

The development steered Buganda kingdom leaving many Baganda unsatisfied to to date.

The recent cabinet White Paper read to Parliament by Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Ms Janat Mukwaya, among others recommended that MPs should be given powers to depose kings who violate the constitution which was opposed by several people inculding MPs and ministers.
