So let me get this straight, Uganda government is in talks with Konny, he has a cease fire in fact he asked for an extension which was given to him as well, but he is expanding the territory? Soon Konny is going to attack in Buganda as we get closer to the elections, just watch. A group of roughly 30 rebels armed with machetes reportedly went into action in Rejaf, a locality on the White Nile a few kilometres from Juba, the main city in southern Sudan; reports only emerged this morning. The leaders of LRA are currently engaged in negotiations with the government of Kampala with a view to beginning the first formal peace talks after 18 years of violence in Uganda�s northern districts. The rebellion has its rearguard in neighbouring Sudan after establishing its training camps there long ago. Meanwhile, the Kampala press reports that the founder and commander of LRA has confirmed his commitment to peace talks with the authorities; speaking through his second in command, Vincent Otti, Joseph Kony has said that he is prepared to meet with the traditional leaders of the Acholi people � one of the ethnic groups worst affected by the guerrilla in recent years � but without saying where or when.
