UPDF mobile troops have unearthed LRA weapons near Gulu town.

The outgoing regional army spokesman, Lt. Paddy Ankunda, said the UPDF dug out 15 anti-tank mines, 15 arm fuses, six bullets and three pins of PK gun in an underground LRA armoury at Lugore hills in Palaro sub-county, Aswa county.

He said the army has a strong intelligence network to identify and dig out all the weapons hidden by the rebels.

"We shall continue to dig out all their arms that they have hidden underground armoury if that is why they don't want peace talk with the Government and end the war," he said.

Ankunda said if they are not recovered, the arms could harm residents when the war ends.

Recently, the UPDF dug up LRA weapons at Atepi River along the Uganda-Sudan border.

Meanwhile, the rebels raided Ogwet village in Oyam north county, Apac district, killing one person and abducting two others on Monday night.

Ankunda said the UPDF ground troops were pursuing the attackers.
