Dear Old Budonians and Friends of Budo,The Budonian Association of North America (BANA) is happy to invite you to a $100,000 fund-raising campaign kickoff on May 28 and 29, 2005 in New York/New Jersey.Purpose: To celebrate 100 years of Budo's existence by constructing a sports complex comprising of a swimming pool, gymnasium with indoor games, and a meeting hall at Kings College Budo. This project was conceived by Old Budonians in Uganda and abroad.The sports complex is to be constructed in phases. Phase 1 will be the construction of a swimming pool and changing rooms. This phase, which is estimated to cost about $80,000, is planned to begin in September 2005 and is to be completed before the Budo's centenary celebrations in March 2006. (The headmaster, Mr. George Semivule, will provide details of the various bids at the reunion).Registration: A registration form is attached. Online registration will also be available on the Budo Reunion website before April 1, 2005.Venue of the Reunion: The Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center, 2 Meadowlands Plaza, East Rutherford, New Jersey. This center is located 4 miles from down town New York City. A block of rooms has been reserved at a convention rate of $119 per day plus applicable taxes.
