On serving Obote

First of all I wish to thank the Monitor Newspaper for their role in educating us.
The stories on “Serving Amin and then Obote” have been very great. We are eagerly awaiting a series on "Serving Museveni".

Sunday Monitor of September 4, was particularly interesting because it brought in the external element regarding Obote's overthrow in 1985.
Much as I knew the Obote regime had fallen out with the United States, I did not believe external forces played a role in his overthrow.

After the story we have to do further research on this particular aspect.
Nevertheless, yesterday's story contained some factual errors.
If Makmot made the factual errors, he should be informed.
It is true the UPC leadership was divided over the Muslim leadership.
The conflict however, was not between Sheikh Ali Kulumba and Sheikh Obeid Kamulegeya as it was reported.

It was between Shiekh Kassim Mulumba and Sheikh Obeid Kamulegeya.
Paul Muwanga supported Mulumba while Obote, Rwakasisi and the others supported Kamulegeya.
Apart from this factual error the rest of the story was extremely good.
