Musa Musamaze,

I debated answering you, and almost decided not to.

Buganda is not the richest region of Uganda; we just do not have the knowledge, tools, and financial clout to dig out our wealth. The Northern region maybe the richest due to potential of oil and gas including even gold in Karamoja (Not that of Salim Saleh that was discovered while DR. Congo was being looted and was expected to last for 50 years. But I think it has all been mined now since then. How many years did it last?).

So don't try to look down upon other parts of our Country Uganda; you might end up looking for a job in.

People, Ugandans, advocate for federalism, individually, out of many reasons. One could be like you, thinking Buganda is very rich and so the riches be protected from other Ugandans hailing from less rich regions. Others most defi nitely go for federalism because of fear: afraid of the dark; afraid of their past deeds; just afraid, et ceterra.

Yet some maybe just are yapping for federalism because there are federal system of governments in other parts of the world. And do not forget some people just love demonstrating their intellectual asset.

Musa, tell me some convincing reasons why Uganda should federate? Is the Country too big? Is the population too large? Or the population is greatly diverse? The last time I checked we all have kinky hair. What are the hullabaloos over federalism about?

"I hope, when you get occassion to discuss the merits and demerits of federalism as form of governance in Uganda, that you will keep this in mind and support federalism: it is to your advantage."

No, my "advantage" is not the issue here. What are you Musamaze afraid of that you want federalism in a Country that is not too big; population not even large; and zero diversity?

Mr Ocii,

One of the reasons we, the Baganda, so ardently advocate for federo is to relieve you, our fellow non-Buganda-residing Ugandans, of the burden of having to support our Kingdom through your hard-earned taxes -- which in any case, you need badly to develop your homelands.

I hope, when you get occassion to discuss the merits and demerits of federalism as fo rm of governance in Uganda, that you will keep this in mind and support federalism: it is to your advantage.
