NRMO Plan to Kill The Kabaka of Buganda Exposed

A number of expressions have been used over the years to describe the status of the Buganda Kingdom within Ugandas body politic: "the glue that holds Uganda together"; "the king maker of Ugandan politics"; "when Buganda sneezes Uganda gets a cold" etc.

Post independence Ugandan leaders have all been cognizant of the critical and dominant role of Buganda in Ugandan politics. They have wasted valuable public funds, peoples' lives and time over the years trying to curtail this influence with little success.  From Milton Obote to his protege Yoweri Museveni, they have all failed miserably in their attempt to "tame" Buganda so that they can rule with impunity.  These attempts to destroy Buganda will continue to fail, owing to the complexity, dynamics and intricate system of the Buganda culture and Kingdom.

The NRA guerrilla war succeeded because it rode on the backs of Baganda and Buganda. Buganda collaborated with NRA to overthrow the Obote administration because Obuganda wanted the restoration of Kingdoms and a federal democratic dispensation in the country.  The NRA agreed to collaborate with Buganda because Museveni and his henchmen thought that once they consolidated themselves in power they could destroy the Kingdoms.  Kingdoms were restored except in Ankole hoping that the clamoring for these institutions was a fad that would dissipate in time.  However, the peoples' love and support for their kingdoms has been growing by leaps and bounds over the years to the dismay and disappointment of Museveni. >

Museveni desperately wants to implement his 50 year master plan in Uganda, the only "stumbling block" in his view is the Buganda Kingdom.  He has successfully antagonized and slowly destroyed other Kingdoms.  He has made several attempts at disorganizing the Buganda Kingdom by creating small kingdoms within Buganda, paying large sums of public funds to senior Buganda government officials including the former Katikkiro to destroy the kingdom with little success.  This year Museveni went a step further, he had his senior agents in North America circulate rumours that the Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi had died.  According to State House and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence sources, the intent of the rumuour was to to see what the peoples' reaction would be should he go ahead and kill the Kabaka.  In addition, Museveni has planted "Baganda traitors" within the Nabagereka Foundation and the Kabaka's security detail with the intent to spy and bring harm to the Buganda Royal Family.

Sources within State House further state that Museveni's warped and naive thinking is that by eliminating His Majesty the Kabaka he would bring the Kingdoms to its knees. Thus giving him free reign to rule Uganda with impunity, grab Buganda's land and property for himself and his cabal.  This is how short sighted Museveni's vision for Uganda is.  He has a complete lack of understanding of the basic underpinnings of the Buganda society and culture.  The Kabaka is an individual in the Buganda society vested with the authority to rule.  Killing that individual does not render Buganda leaderless or change its dynamics.  Buganda has been in existence for over seven centuries and will continue to exist when everyone alive today is dead.

The personal safety of the Buganda Royal Family, particularly His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi is the responsibility of the Uganda government; and a personal responsibility of President Yoweri Museveni. Mr. Museveni should be worried just as much if not more about the safety of the Buganda Royal as he does about his own and that of his family.  Should any danger ever befall the Buganda Royal Family, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be held personally responsible and will pay for it in kind. >
