It would be interesting to watch and note what MIT's  Prof. Noam Chomsky has to say about the Crises in Northern and Eastern Uganda. Some of us have read many works of Prof.  Noam Chomsky  and have high regard for the man.

New film on north conflict to show in Canada
EVELYN LIRRI
KAMPALA
A documentary on northern Uganda called Uganda Rising, produced by Canadians, will make its world premiere in Toronto, Canada on April 28 to May 7,2006.
According to a statement from the film's producer, Ms Alison Lawton, the documentary will premiere at the HotDocs International Film Festival. "We are thrilled that Uganda Rising was selected to premiere at this renowned international festival," Lawton said.
"Our film is part of an international campaign called Act For Stolen Children in Northern Uganda, which aims to increase political, public and media awareness about the humanitarian crisis in northern Uganda and the festival is the only way we are able to further increase public awareness about the country and its people's urgent need for peace," Lawton said.
The film is showing at a time when the government is resettling internally displaced persons back to their villages.
An estimated 1.6 million people have been internally displaced by the 20-year-old conflict, while thousands children have been abducted and forcefully recruited into rebel ranks.
According to a statement from the Uganda Rising website, the film, which was directed by Jesse James Miller and written by Pete McCormack, uncovers what has been called a “hidden war.”
The film includes an interview with President Yoweri Museveni as well as human rights experts and foreign policy experts like Ms Betty Bigombe, the chief peace negotiator between the government and the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels.
Others include Prof. Mahmood Mamdani a Herbert Lehman Professor of Government and Anthropology at Columbia University, Mr Lloyd Axworthy, the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Winnipeg, Prof. Noam Chomsky of Massachusetts institute of Technology and Prof. Samantha Power, of Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
