KAPCHORWA district leaders have appealed to the governments of Uganda and Kenya to declare the Karimojong and Pokot terrorist tribes.
The leaders said on Thursday that cattle raids and other acts of lawlessness meted out by the two communities against other tribes left them with no better description for them.
The leaders were on Thursday presenting their views to the defence experts working group of the East African Community during a meeting at the Masha Hotel, Kapchorwa.
LC5 chairman Nelson Chelimo, the Church of Uganda Bishop of Sebei Diocese, the Rev. Augustine Salimo, LC3 chairpersons and district councillors attended the meeting.
Mella, 80, said he had lived more than half of his life under terrorism caused by the armed warriors. He said many people had lost lives and property to the two tribes.
