Robert Ssenkindu Let me give you another part of the equation now that you have just seen that piece. A sitting American president at a time who I have forgotten the name wanted to start an open dialogue with the PLO, and Israel opposed that move for they believed into solving the problem militarily always. After the Israelis knew that they had failed to convince the American administration about PLO, they decided to stage an air craft hijack. On record, the Air France Air Craft that was hijacked to Entebbe International Airport was never hijacked by the PLO but by the Israel Mossad pretending to be PLO members fighting the Palestinians issue. So you the Ugandans that died during the debacle, including President Iddi Amin and the Israelis as Mrs Dola Block who died in Uganda, died for all this concoction was created by Israel. There was never a PLO that hijacked an air craft to Entebbe international Airport.
The British government released these information's just few weeks ago. I don´t deny Idi Amin was a bad man, but I was very disturbed with the incident whereby the Ugandan soldiers who were on guard ended up being the victims of the situation. My question is whether Uganda has ever sued Isreal for an illegal assault on it......... Please people who are well informed about that incident help me with the answer, because I stilll believe that if Uganda never did it, should do it for the sake of the 20+ soldiers who lost their souls. I thank you SR, Sverige/SB ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Mulago back in the news again Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 18:29:09 +0000 Emmy, We are still a long way to go from getting some of these politicians and leaders to get involved directly on a regularly basis particularly when they have to identify themselves by name and as officials of this or that organization or government. Important issues are being discussed, but the forum still lacks direction and a focus which can meaningfully be oriented towards an implementable goal. Take for example the northern conflict, it is a jungle of all issues. Then, we are ready to pounce on any politician or leader who shows their head on the forum. Look at Wafula Oguta and Betty Kamya. They have come on this forum a few times. But each time they visit, they are immediately told aha toyogera. Olimutemu and all that kind of stuff. Okello Lucima the UPC external rep, was quite engaged. But each time he posted, he was reminded of obote's deeds in Buganda. Each time Aisha visits, as a government official, she is reminded of how poorly she dressed during tabamiruka in New Jersey. Then you have our brothers Kateregera and Rogers Mataka who are the typical comrades of a communist party...you follow the leader's lines from the cradle to the grave...any minor diversion leads one to Siberia for banishment. Then you have the regulars on this forum who specialize in abusing others followed by those completely stuck in the past. How does one get through all these barriers and deliver the kind of message one would wish to deliver to the responsible people. Cheers OJ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Mulango back in the news again Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 17:59:34 +0000 Mw. Kateregga, Can you remind them to respond to issues raised on this forum because it seems it is difficult to know who is who on this forum where people use pseudonym names. If they identified themselves we would be putting these hot questions to them but since we don’t know who is who. It becomes difficult to put that question where it belongs. Do you think Bukedde can help to advance the forum idea to opposition and government officials? Indeed there are in fact strong questions which are raised here but never answered. We long for such answers and the only person who can do that without fear or favour it is you. Emmy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Mulango back in the news again Date: Mon, 12 Nov 2007 11:09:53 +0300 This forum has participants like Hajjati Aishah Nalule Kabanda, a close aide of Mrs.Amelia Kyambadde. There are also state functionaries in President's Office, Ministry of Security, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs that monitor and ocasionaly participate. There is one minister who was initially a participant. It can therefore make an impact. But we should involve more in government, opposition even rebel organisations. ----- Original Message ----- From: Emmy Wasirwa To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, November 09, 2007 11:05 PM Subject: RE: Mulango back in the news again OJ, You know very well that the only way we can implement this is getting a backing from either the government or the opposition and by so doing we need links, which links I know do exist in opposition. However their hands are tied. On the side, the government there is Mw. Kateregga but he is just a supporter and I am not sure whether he has any influence on Amelia Kyambadde since most actions taken in Uganda emanate from state house and Amelia is the key to all these. On the serious therefore there is a need to restructure our forum to see how we can make it a formidable lobby group which can make a difference. How to do this, Ugandans at heart have the solution. I would also suggest that both the government and the opposition should guide us on this if they think they can benefit from it. Looking forward to a mature debt in order to take this to new dispensation. Emmy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 9 Nov 2007 09:09:20 -0800 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Mulango back in the news again To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emmy, This forum may be taken serious or it may not depending on the intensity of the issue being discussed and what forum members decide to do with what comes out of the debate. If we start implementing some of the ideas being debated, then, respect for the forum will also begin. What governments not only in Uganda but the rest of Africa need to learn and perhaps copy from the Western world, is that governments no longer perform a lot of things, other than regulating this or that and making laws and making sure that these laws are respected and taken seriously. In Canada they have a joke that says if you do not want to work but get paid, work for the government. Western governments now give their work to sub-contractors. Take for example Canada's Department of National Defence (DND), they give numrous contracts to civilian companies and these companies do an excellent job. This is what Uganda government needs to do in the case of Mulago and other hospitals, sub-contract private comapnies to re-novate mulago on a regular basis. This will take away a lot of responsibilities from the government, lessens the accusation being labeled at it all the time for being inneficient and corrupt. ----- Original Message ---- From: Emmy Wasirwa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 8, 2007 2:47:03 PM Subject: RE: Mulango back in the news again OJ, I understand, but we should know this is just a forum and therefore it might not carry weight in delivering a difference to the government or the opposition. However if we want to make a difference, I suggest that we re-establish ourselves by forming up an identity with the population as real alternative in policy formulation. I do describe ourselves as either lobbyists and if we fine tune ourselves we might become what is known as a think-tank. I know it is possible if we try to panel bit this forum into something else. You can see that there are a lot of flying ideas on this forum which can either be used by the opposition or the government but sometimes the way I see things we are not taken so serious because more often than not we tend to slide in stupid discussions than remaining focused. I would suggest therefore that we reorganize ourselves into something tangible. We shouldnʼt give up with the registering the forum because in the process it might give us leverage of making our points heard either to government or opposition. So I propose that we start from here by asking for more ideas from forum members for the way forward. My question before I go is what should we do to make a difference at home through this forum??? If you have any ideas please share with us. Together we can make it happen. Emmy Date: Thu, 8 Nov 2007 08:54:21 -0800 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Mulango back in the news again To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emmy, The Mulago debate, like most, was left hanging without any decision. It was the same thing with the flood in Northern and Eastern Uganda. OJ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
