Ssebo Gook,

Thank you for this posting! Do you by any chance know the population in
Moroto? and/or
Karamoja district as a whole? How many Karamojongos can 20 houses
accommodate?

If I recall, Karamoja has GOLD, one of the best selling commodities in the
world today.
How do 20 houses compare the the benefits of selling GOLD and possibly oil
to the
world on the global market?

How about the cows? Will the cows be confined as USA corporations which took
over the
farms did in USA?

To cut the long story short: Who put this plan together? Is it in the
interests of our fellow
country men, women and their children and Uganda as a nation? Or is it
someone's rubber
stamp to hoodwink observers into believing, that something is being done to
develop
Moroto and Karamoja, as part of Uganda the nation? Let us face it, our
people in Karamoja
have been neglected for years.

I am just curious, Gook and will appreciate and answers from you, or anyone
reading me.

Assumpta Mary Kintu

The hydraform houses Mrs Museveni commissioned in Moroto recently

By Vision Reporter

The First Lady and Minister of State for Karamoja Affairs, Janet Museveni,
has commissioned 20 hydraform houses at Nakapelimeni Camp Swahili in
Moroto.

The units are part of the Government strategy to provide decent
accommodation and transform the living conditions of the people of
Karamoja.

Commissioning the project, Mrs. Museveni said the Government was committed
to transforming villages into better places to live in.

She called upon the communities to unite and work together in this effort to
modernise Karamoja, adding that she wanted to see modern villages all over
the region.

“Our dream is to see people build houses using the hydraform machines we
purchased. I would like to see all villages develop and have such housing
units,” the First Lady said.

The three-room housing units were constructed by Karimojong youth, who were
trained by Hydraform Group, South Africa.

Mrs. Museveni urged the youth to take advantage of the tractor-hire facility
to grow food in order to avert famine.
