FDC prepares medals for Museveni, Kayihura

In Summary

The FDC officials say the medals will be accorded to the government heads
for their role in distablising the country.

Kayunga

Forum for Democratic Change leaders in Kayunga District will give President
Museveni a medal when he visits the area this week. The leaders say the
medal is in recognition of his role in ruling Ugandans under “absolute
poverty”.

Announcing the move during a press conference in Kayunga Town on Sunday, the
area party chairperson, Mr Sadik Sserugo, said the president deserves the
medal because he has achieved his goal of “making Ugandans poor so that he
can easily govern and manipulate them”.

Mr Sserugo also said Lt. Gen. Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of
Police, will be recognised for heading the police which has tortured
Ugandans during his term.

Musisi’s medal
The Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director, Ms Jennifer Musisi,
will receive a medal for dislodging many Ugandans from Kampala where they
have been earning a living and make them destitute.

“We have finalised plans to hold the function this week in Kayunga Town. We
have pumped millions in the function and we hope the president will honour
our invitation. We would be ungrateful if we don’t appreciate these people
for their contribution,” Mr Sserugo said. He added: “We are going to inform
police about our plans and we warn it not to interfere with our function.”

President Museveni is slated to visit Kayunga tomorrow to launch a Shs3b
ferry that will connect Kayunga and Kamuli districts at Nabuganyi landing
site in Busaana Sub-county. He will look into other problems like land
wrangles.

Kayunga RDC Margaret Balyehuki and the acting DPC Thomas Katusiime said they
had heard about the function but had not yet received any formal
communication from FDC leaders.
“We shall not allow it to take place,” the RDC said on phone.

Mr Sserugo also described the president’s visit twice in almost one month as
“useless” when the district health facilities lack drugs. He also said he
had received calls from anonymous people threatening to harm him in case he
went ahead with the function and said he would report the matter to police.
