A Kabaka must be born of a woman who belongs to one of the Buganda clans
Frank Mujabi
Now where does this statement put Ssemakokiro exactly? And what about all
those that took the streets of UAH of now we have a Mulangira to replace
Ssabassajja in case !!!! One needs to follow this conversation for a time to
realize how very convoluted it is indeed.

Everybody in Buganda takes his father's clan EXCEPT the children of a
reigning King.
Those children ( boys and girls) take the clans of their mothers.
Since the Kabaka is the head of all clans it follows that a Kabaka must
belong to one of the kiganda tribes.
ergo; A Kabaka must be born of a woman who belongs to one of the Buganda
clans
Any clan can have a Kabaka and no one clan has a monopoly
Unless the brothers of a Kabaka are of the same clan as him, they
are not his brothers in a clan sense.
No 'Balangira ' clan can evolve since they are of different clans
anyway.

Bobby, the thing with crime or no crime of Ugandan politicians is that

Now on another note (out of curiosity), you say: "Baganda are a patrilineal
society and the kids generally take the tribe of the father."
I wonder why nobles or Kabakas are excluded from this. I do not know the
reality but
I recall reading it here on UAH that the Kabaka takes the tribe / clan of
his mother. True?!

But Mr George Okello was making the same argument about Obote's kids being
Baganda on this very forum not too long ago.
UPC thinks they can nationalise the idea of being a muganda.
Baganda are a patrilineal society and the kids generally take the tribe of
the father.
Obote's kids are Langi thru and thru.
