You are right it is Florida , my mistake and I must apologize.
And just to add, we now have a more straight understanding on the issue, for
Canadians have been on phones and on Emails and on Tweet to everybody from
the White House to the office messenger in DOT of the state. And here is the
clarification as late as 15 minutes ago. The legislation was passed on
February the 1st to be implemented on February the 15th which is tomorrow.
But this is what we have found as Canadians, since the economy of United
States went into the Ghetto many states have more time on their hands than
they need, so they pass many stupid laws within their jurisdictions, as they
grew up, people stopped to monitor them, no one monitored this legislation
so no one went after it and it passed, when in fact it was affecting
Canadian oldies than any one single country. Midnight last night the Police
started to enforce it and the people started to complain, and so we did what
we do always with a stupid American law, we picked the phones and the Emails
and we jammed their offices. By about 2 pm Toronto time, the Florida DOT
{Department of transport} Issued an Email that Canadians are going to be
exempted from carrying an international driving license, and that was stupid
too. And stupid for Florida does not own the international drivers license,
so it has no way to enforce it and it cannot use it to sue people in its
jurisdiction. But back up a little. We got this law for Police in Florida is
having a problem with people going there when they have driving permits that
are not in English to be read, there are jurisdictions from for example
Russia that have permits you cannot read and have no photograph, so the
argument was right there has to be a some identification that is
understandable. The implementation was silly. So we rejected that exemption
for now you are going to target the British the Japanese the what have you.
3/4s of Hong Kong citizens are Canadian citizens, in fact when China took
the island foreign countries pulled out their citizens except Canada for we
had to pull out almost every one, so we went to China and got a written
agreement that Canadians will have their rights protected and they stayed.
With this kind of exemption how will they be covered when they have a Hong
Kong drivers license? So just stand up and say that to drive in Florida
you need a license in English and with a photograph. They failed to do that.
As the argument got hotter by the day, some Canadians were attacking The UN
in Geneva for it owns the rights to The International Driving License, and
at about 3 pm my time, Geneva issued a warning to Florida that it will sue
the state if it implements that law for the legislation is against
international laws. You see as much as each jurisdiction owns a road
stretch, the UN actually through freedom of passage owns the roads of all
jurisdictions that sign on a specific treaty, and United State is a
signatory to that treaty. It is under that treaty, I cannot quote today, the
UN issues international driving permits. That is why every citizen in all
these countries that are under the UN can drive in all roads of these
countries as long as the home jurisdiction certifies them as safe drivers.
What the state of Florida did was to get a License it does not issue and
demand people to own it or it will penalize them for not owning it. And that
is criminal, for example the ministry of transportation in Zimbabwe can
never instruct any one driving in Zimbabwe to own an Ontarian driving
permit. It goes to show how stupid some of these Americans are, and I will
follow on that as I sum up.
At about 3 30pm The state of Florida issued an apology on the requirement of
an international drivers license and it stated that it is not going to
enforce it for they need to go back to the legislation to study if it does
not breach international laws. And that is where we are right now. What
really gets to me is that you have passed a stupid law and you have affected
peoples lives and you are wallowing away. There are Canadians that planned
to go to Florida this winter and they were supposed to fly out tonight, they
have cancelled for the CAA simply did not have the licenses they need, we
send full flights to Florida. There are people that have not worked today
due to panic and how can we get this license? But CAA has now run out of
them for they were all grabbed in a second and we need a time to print new
ones. Why do we have to go through all this for you re not smart enough to
know how legislation works let alone gets implemented?
And it is not only limited to this silliness, honestly there are laws
Americans set and you wonder if any one took a second to think them through.
Here is an example. The state of Michigan passed a law requiring all
trailers to have a certain testing certificate from their jurisdiction
effective 7 days. Are you kidding me? We have almost 7,000 trailers some I
will never even see, some never even step in Canada, they are in United
States or Mexico. If I need a trailer in Vancouver to show up into Toronto
office which is the controlling office, it takes it 7 days driving day and
night if it is empty. And I need a second driver for it not to stop. Who
pays for that? How long does it take me to pull a trailer from Mexico? Have
you considered natural disasters? Roads swept up by rains and so on? But a
Legislator has signed the law without thinking about all these logistical
nightmares? We buy trailers and throw them to contracts all their lives,
they drive it in Mexico on Ontario plates all its life and we sell it off
when I have not seen it for 5 seconds for I simply do not need to. And you
want me to pull it into Toronto to be tested and get a certificate in 7
days?
But that is how silly are Americans, they open their mouth then think, when
you look at legislations, Americans actually have more legislations pulled
out than any jurisdiction in Western countries for they do not think them
through. Either Condoleezza Rice or Hillary Clinton sat on a senate floor to
testify and stated that we need to strengthen the Canadian border for the
terrorists that blew up New York came from Canada. Say what? And we did what
we do always we attacked them with Emails and phone calls, by the time she
left the floor the White house had issued an official apology. It is not
easy living next to United States, you need to be mouthy and talk and very
fast, and in numbers we have beaten this one for we blew up their Emails.
Just a personal note, if youre going to Florida in small town, take the
international license, for that Sheriff the Get out of my town tonight is
not current as some of us are, you will get a hard time with him, just
cover yourself and let a Canadian embassy know you are there till when we
get an official with draw of this stupid legislation.
And as all bad American laws it will go for now it has created an interest
into itself.

For some very strange reason, one stupid law maker in The State of
California instructed from last night that effective today every one driving
in The State must have a Californian driving permit, if you do not have it
you need to own an international driving permit, or you will be considered

Secondly. When any jurisdiction is going to impose such a regulation it
gives a time for people to adjust for it, we have people already in
California for this is winter, you simply cannot throw this on them to get
International licenses today. International licenses are issued only in CAA
in Canada and in AAA in United States, there are so many Canadians that
flock to Florida for example that the lines in CAA and AAA are by this
morning in 100s, and CAA simply does not have that much books for it was
not warned to stock pile them up. And we are getting the same reports from
AAA down south. So you have people on vacation that are lining up to get the
licenses and they are not in stock but Police Officers in California are
arresting them for driving without a License. I have just talked to the
Ministry of transportation in Ontario and they are also surprised that this
came up without a warning, actually our minister heard about it on news wire
service as the rest of us did, which should not happen. So this is
scrambling as best as they show up.
And lastly, jurisdictions like Ontario have moved to electronic DLs, for a
simple reason we cross a whole lot to United States through various points,
one American idiot started by asking that we carry passports, so an
arrangement was done to embed our details into the electronic DL so that it
gets accepted on the boarder as a passport, this was agreed during the Bush
late years, and those licenses have already started to get off line, and I
own one which I use to cross over and over, I use it on airports too for it
can be electronically read as a passport as long as I am going only in
United States, I only need my Drivers license not a passport, and now an
idiot in California is rejecting them. And does it make sense that all
jurisdictions in United States accept them but California?
Yes we know California is poor but is it fair to target Canadians? For this
law is only affecting Canadians for they are the ones that go there the most
to run from winter, and you get in a middle of winter when people are
already South, the snow birds have left and you issue an Iddi Amin decree
of with immediate effect !!!!!! We are scrambling to reach the minister of
transportation in Ontario to go after this nonsense for some of us have just
had it with Americans, let us not ask California to reverse this, but let us
throw a tax on every California crappy plate. You show up in our
jurisdiction, you pay a 200 dollar fee to drive your car let us see how far
this goes. You simply cannot target our old people in this manner when they
are maintaining your collapsed real estate market. Unbelievable !!!!!
