Kabaka Mutebi and other recognized cultural leaders in Uganda do not need
armed security body guards. They spoil the cultural image. Armed guards
should be left for the politically elected leaders who might in one way or
another have a queue of known and unknown enemies around them

The Kabaka used to take care of his own security but M7 insists that he must
have those uniformed goons.
Even the young Princess Ssanga is surrounded by armed amazons when she goes
to public functions with her fathere.
I think it is meant to make the Kabaka unpopular.

Interesting how much visible security Angela Merkel or the President of
Columbia have, but it is there nontheless.
This is an NRA creation.

handpicked these men from UPDF/ Police and dressed them in Kanzus with a

AK47. They do not have to be near him.

My brother Joseph.
I understand your concern. Unfortunately i am not in the security system to
talk about this matter expeditiously. As a lay man i think that when
security personel are putting on uniform, it gives an indicator of
protection and their existance . This means that any body who would be with
any intention to cause harm to the one protected, has to think twice.
Of cause there must be plain clothed security personel hidden within the
environ un noticed.

No one is denying the fact that cultural leaders, the Kabaka, in
particular,do not need government protection. The problem is with the image
and message that the army presence aroumd the Kabaka, presents. Kayihura, is
an army General, who wears Police uniform. Most of Museveni's civilian
dressed body guards are army officers, Why cant the same go for Kabaka's
seccurity detail? Kamugisha

My dear friends.
I wanted to contribute on this debate. Cultural leaders are VIPs in Uganda
and are entitled to a VIP treatment.
Some time back, i visited a certain MP's Country home and i found two
Soldiers guarding his village home!
Imagine, an MP who is not even a Minister! If an MP can access security,
what about a King!!
The Government must be aware that the King needs enough security because its
the duty of the Government to protect its citizens especially the Senior
Citizens of Uganda.
I would like to commend the Government for the security it is giving to His
Majesty Kabaka Mutebi and to all recognised cultural leaders in Uganda.
I hope that i am well understood

Uganda is under military rule. Its the military that brought the Kabaka to
his
throne. They feel they have the mandate to protect him. They started
protecting him right from the day he (Kabaka) visited them in Luweero as
a Prince.
It look like he is in an open prison.

Rev. Kamugisha,
I fully agree with you. It simply does not look good to have uniformed UPDF
around the Kabaka.
Plain clothed policemen would be more presentable unless the UPDF is making
a statement, "obwakabaka buwambe"?
Actually even the President himself very rarely surrounds himself with
uniformed personnel.
George.
