Let me take a second in my very frustrating evening to go after those with
IPhones I pads templates and what have you, for I have written about this
problem before but I need to reemphasize it in case you missed my first
going after it a couple of months ago. All those equipments when used to
take a photograph, they have several default setups that they have with
which you may know or not know. For example many of them put a date and time
the photograph was taken automatically, many of them automatically set the
kind of focus you need, for all these setting ups were made at the
manufacturing. There is one setting I need you to reconsider tonight, your
phone takes the photograph yes, but it also automatically records the
coordinates of the very location where that photograph was taken because
that service was set up as a default at the manufacturing.
When you get that photograph and send it to someone, it is followed with all
those details including the very coordinates of the location it was taken
at. So here is a very saga you will find in yourself after you post a
photograph of your television in the bedroom to a Facebook site, I can get
that photograph and put it into goggle map, key in a couple of buttons in
my computer and Google map will find the coordinates of where it was taken
in 5 seconds, and it will tell me exactly the country you live in, the
street you live on, and the very bedroom this television set is at. The
coordinates on your photograph have exactly where they were taken. We have
started to get cases in United States Canada and UK where thieves actually
go to a house and break exactly the window where such a commodity is located
for Google maps went into that photograph you posted and located the
coordinates and tied them to the photograph.
The problem with this issue again as I stated way back, is that the
photographs you post publicly, you lose control of who gets them and what
he/she uses them for, punks have targeted women for now I know where her
bedroom is and it is mostly women that post their bedrooms for some very
unknown reason. We have safes dug out of bed rooms for one posted the jewel
they want to sell on Facebook, we have music systems stolen and this is a
very lucrative business for you go on Facebook and find out who has what and
when he/she is not home, it is very classic and I love the brain. Remember
also that even if you live in a country with very controlled internet
services, Google map by pass those local laws so that I can easily find out
where you took the photograph in Kanata. This morning I goggled a photograph
of a lady, my friend, that she sent me from Taipei and when I asked Google
map to follow the coordinates she actually took it in a park in Arhus
Denmark. I literary walked into the park on my screen and saw kids walking
in the park live passing the bench she was sitting on to take the pic.
When you take photographs with your whatever communication system you have,
start by taking it to a computer gick to disable the system that stamps the
photographs with coordinates. Just remove the service for you will be very
surprised at what people can do with such information. Secondly if you are
in Mumbai and you lied that you live in Sydney Australia, never take a
photograph while in Sydney and send it out, for your I phone is the very God
damn enemy you have.
